Jennifer Lopez hosted SNL last Saturday and proved, yet again, that she’s aging backward.
The 50-year-old multi-hyphenate superstar pulled off a ton of skits, looking flawless with glowing skin. She also rocked that famous green Versace dress AGAIN, and she looked better than ever doing it.
So, instead of being green with envy, we decided to follow in her footsteps and learn a tip or two. Here are some of her skincare and beauty secrets to capture some of that JLo glow serum and achieve beautiful skin yourself.
1. Sleep
Ok, so we hear all the time that if you want to be successful, you have to miss out on some zzz’s. That’s not true, according to JLo (yay!).
She told InStyle that she tries to get 9-10 hours of beauty sleep daily and settles for 8 hours at the very least. Talk about beauty sleep!
Proper rest ensures that your skin feels healthy and keeps your skin protected against daily stressors.
2. A Suite of Great Skincare Products
In an interview with Hello!, Jennifer Lopez mentioned Lancer The Method: Cleanse and Lancer Eye Contour Lifting Cream as some of her favorite eye cream beauty products.
In another interview with Well + Good, her go-to makeup artist Mary Phillips said that Jennifer loves Själ Saphir Concentrate, a facial oil that contains aquamarine, botanical retinol, soothing blue chamomile, and a marine complex. It’s super expensive - around $175 a bottle - but it may be worth a try for firmer skin and long-lasting skin hydration.
Finally, Lopez revealed on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen that she has used Dr. Hauschka Rose Day Cream from Whole Foods for about 10 years.
It’s no wonder Jennifer Lopez's skincare routine is talked about everywhere!
3. Consistent Workout Routine

Unsurprisingly, Jennifer Lopez works out pretty much every day. Her secret to maintaining her routine? Keeping it fresh!
She told Hollywood Life, "I work out three or four times a week. When I’m in New York, I work out with David Kirsch — he’s an amazing trainer. When I’m in L.A., I work with Tracy Anderson. I like the balance that they both give me. They have two totally different approaches. I like switching it up with my body.”
This blend of strength and variety helps promote radiant skin and circulates nutrients necessary for a youthful complexion.
4. Meditation and Affirmations
She revealed to Well+Good, “Affirmations are so important. I am youthful and timeless. I tell myself that every day, a few times a day. It sounds like clichéd bullshit, but it’s not: Age is all in your mind. Look at Jane Fonda,” she says.
5. No Smoking, Alcohol, or Caffeine
“I don't drink, or smoke, or have caffeine," she told Hollywood Life. "That really wrecks your skin as you get older." She also says that she hasn’t had caffeine "in years," which is a key to her youthful appearance.
6. Makeup Removal
This is something that everyone knows, but Lopez backs up this best practice with personal experience.
"I never go to bed without taking my makeup off, [and I use] night creams to keep my skin hydrated," she told People.
Removing makeup ensures that excess oil and impurities don't clog pores. Pairing proper cleansing with a single gel cream cleanser can promote antioxidant protection and leave your skin care process fresh.
If it’ll make us look like J.Lo, it’s worth the hassle!
7. Eating Healthy Food
“We eat a lot of green vegetables, asparagus, Brussel sprouts, broccoli, and kale. I love to cook, I cook a lot of stuff, I love cooking Puerto Rican food because that's what I grew up on," Jennifer Lopez told Daily Mail.
Her focus on fresh foods, like veggies and healthy fats, is crucial for overall body health and youthful skin tone. Lopez’s approach aligns with the natural elements of the JLo beauty line, which uses nourishing ingredients like fermented olive oil for smoother, healthier skin.
It’s all part of a complete JLo skin care routine, which focuses on a balanced life inside and out. With her use of olive leaf extract and game-changing innovations like sugar-derived matrix and yeast-derived ferment, she truly keeps her skin's appearance timeless.
